Each month, Whitefriars Church, Rushden, holds a short local countryside walk (of about four miles) that are open to people of all ages and fitness levels, whether alone, or as part of a couple or a family. Here are details of our next events

Countryside Walks April to June 2024

Sunday 14th April, A SALTBURN SAUNTER - four mile walk in the countryside between Slipton and Lowick, going through the outbuildings of Drayton House, known to millions through the Saltburn film. Meet at 10.30am, at the mini-layby on the sharp bend near the start of the road to Slipton that turns right off the Thrapston to Twywell soon after the big Primark warehouse is on the left. Nearest postcode is NN14 3JL (Islip Lodge).

Sunday 12th May, A MELCHBOURNE MEANDER: a three/four mile walk on footpaths between Melchbourne, Swineshead and Upper Dean. Meet at 10.30am in Park Road, Melchbourne, the road to Melchbourne Park, below the Church (MK44 1BB).

Sunday 9th June, A THRAPSTON THIGHSLAPPER: a walk on and near the former railway north of Thrapston, near the gravel pit. Meet beyond the Nene Valley Surgery in Green Lane, beyond the end of Chancery Lane (NN14 4QL) in time to leave at 10.30.
